Upper Suspension Release
The Upper Suspension release is a subtle, easy to learn
method that addresses the deeper muscles of the Thoracic Sling, Pelvic Girdle,
the Neck and Back of the horse. These are muscles of the horse that cannot be
reached through normal muscle manipulation or massage strokes, due to their
depth within the body and their attachments to the thorax and other supportive
mechanisms of the horse.
The method was developed by Doris & Ron after noting that
not all muscle issues are superficial to the Equine body, therefore not
treatable with conventional massage methods and or techniques. It was noted
that the use of light touch in conjunction with Myo-fascial Release and Reiki,
enabled the horse to relax to the point of releasing this deeper, usually
unreachable tension and stress, on their own. The Therapist becomes
“just the facilitator”.
The method is best utilized by those familiar with Equine
Body Work, but can be learned by and equally effective for those without the
benefit or knowledge of Equine Body Work, such as owners or trainers.
This method can be learned in about three to four hours. (The
number of hours needed will be adjusted to compensate for more than one
student.) It can be taught here at Ray of Light Farm, or at your farm.
This is not a certification course, but a useful tool for
your tool bag. The cost for a four hour session is $275. Travel expenses may
apply if on your property.
It can be added to the end of our Equissage NE/NY 5 day
certification course. It comes with a work book.
