To ensure that our students are receiving the most thorough and complete curriculum available.    

First and foremost, we have concluded over the years of learning Human and Equine Massage, along with additional Body Work Alternative Therapies, that hands on learning and practice with a qualified instructor who can immediately assess, correct and guide a student is paramount.  

About Us

Doris and Ron Bouchard, owners and operators of Equissage New England/New York were selected to administer the “Equissage Equine Sport Massage Certification Program” for the New England states and New York state in 2008. Both are graduates of the Equissage program. Doris and Ron were certified by Mary Schreiber of Equissage, Inc. as instructors for the Equissage curriculum in “Equine Sports Massage Therapy”.

We started practicing Equine Massage in 2005. During this time, Doris also completed her training and certification as a Human Massage Therapist and became nationally certified by the NCBTMB. This education was applied to the Equissage certification training, because there are many similarities within the horse/human muscle anatomy, the physiology of course, between the two, is different.

We discovered that while Muscle Manipulation, is the foundation that will always be necessary to, for example,  release a muscle spasm, other alternative methods are equally effective. They become the added tools to resolve and compliment body work.
